Officer called me at 1:00am on 4/19/17 to come into town to open the business I manage for no other reason than to return a cellphone that a customer had left during normal business hours. The officer was hostile when I arrived. The officer verbally abused me and called me a bad manager. The officer also stated that my employees had hidden the phone in an attempt to steal it. Silverton PD dispatch then told me the only way to file a complaint is through the chief of police. I finally got a call back from a Captain who explained that the investigation process will take time and that should hear from them in about a week to get my statement.
Shameful behavior on Silverton PD's refusal to take this seriously. I am going to alert local news outlets.
We've met all the officers and appreciate their willingness to serve. They have been kind and professional every time we have met them.
